The Monster dash is an event that proudly raises money for the "Russell Gilstrap Scholarship Foundation". The Scholarship Foundation was created as a way that Scott and Peggy White Owners of Fleet Feet could feel the connection to the Community and have a real impact on where the funding or product was touching individuals lives. It is important to us that we have a connection with who we are helping.
Scott and Peggy White started the foundation in 2016, the Scholarship is in memory of Peggy's Father who was a caring, giving man who passed away in October of 2002. So it is very fitting that we roll out the scholarship in October at the Monster Dash. (read more on Russell Gilstrap) (apply for the scholarship)
Our goal is to get 500 participants, to come out and run, walk, jog, or stroll. We welcome all paces and ages!
The 5k course begins south down Harmon to Columbia. A counter-clockwise lollipop will bring runners back up to Drake park, cross the foot bridge and counter-clockwise run the park up to NW Drake Rd. to finish back at Highland Elementary School. The 10K route is the same route, just 2 loops. Great Aid stations, great volunteers and amazing costumes!
The Little Monsters route is a counter-clockwise loop that will head south down Harmon to Galveston, and then follow the path back through Drake park, across the foot bridge and finish back at the school.
