Speed Training

Spring, 2013, we are rolling out our Speed Running Program!

 

Rod Bien will be coaching a special program for folks who would like to increase their speed and train for and run a new PR (personal record) in the 10k,  1/2 Marathon or Marathon distance. 

 

*This program is suited for folks who have completed a 1/2 Marathon or longer in the past and would now like to get faster.  Your actual speed does not matter.  Just the will to commit to the program and commit the time and effort to achieve your goals.  Whether you are shooting for a half marathon PR of 2:00 or breaking 1:30, this will give you the tools to achieve your goals.

 

*This program will be fairly intense and based around the areas to make you faster in these events.  It will suggest 6 days per week of training.

 

What you will receive:

 

1.  Personal schedule written for you every week.

2.  2 coached sessions per week.  Sessions will be Monday's and Thursday's at 5:30 PM.

3.  Speakers on nutrition, strength training, and proper race fueling.

4.  Clinics on foam rolling and recovery.

5.  Technical T-Shirt

6.  Discounted rate at the Eugene 1/2 or full marathon

* 2012 winner of Silver Falls Marathon

* Course records at distances of 50K, 50 Mile, and 100 Miles

 

Personal note from Rod Bien:

"The beauty of distance running is that a lot of the success you can achieve is based entirely on working hard.  My first marathon was run in 3:58.  Through time and hard work, I have become an elite runner at many long distance runs.  I look forward to coaching you on getting faster.  It WILL be hard but satisfying work.  The workouts with me will push you and you WILL get faster.  I hope you'll join me on this journey to get faster, stronger, and we can enjoy the process together."

 

 

Dates:  Monday, March 4th through Thursday, April 25th.  Group will meet on Monday's and Thursday's at 5:30 p.m.  (**The first week the class will meet at 5 p.m. to allow enough daylight before the March 9th daylight savings time change.)

Cost: Early registration: $99.00

Late Registration: $125.00

 

(If you have not yet run a half marathon or you are looking to complete a half marathon regardless of pace, our Half Marathon Training program would be a better fit.)
