50k Fat Ass Fun Run in the Badlands Bend, Oregon Including 9, 13, and 22 mile options This is a fun run to turn your post-holiday fat ass into a BAD ASS!
Weather Weather and Conditions Come prepared for any weather. Weather in January in Central Oregon’s desert averages 39 degrees for a high and 23 for a low. Weather can range from snow or rain, sleet, high wind, or dry and sunny and perfect. It can be nice and protected in Smith Canyon, but can be really windy and cold up in the higher areas, especially on the summit of Cinder Butte. We recommend carrying a windproof layer. If there is snow, we recommend carrying slip-on Yak Traks or studding your shoes (see Studded Shoes below). After every snow, the desert hillbillys cruise the fire roads in their 4WDs lookin’ for varmits and are kind enough to drive most of the double track to make nice hardpacked tracks. Freezing and thawing can cause some slippery spots and we recommend extra traction or risk bruising that precious fat ass.
Studded Shoes Bronco Billy will bring his electric drill and a box of sheet metal screws for pre-run technical support. Get there by 7:30am to have Bronco show you how to “screw your shoes.” Kinky.
